We make a wide variety of products from
bread, rolls, cakes and pastries.
Kangaroo Island Bakery is a wholesale bakery situated at
the Northern end of Dauncey Street next to Nepean Motors.
Our breads include white, brown wholemeal, multigrain,
oatbran, turkish, sour dough and rye. The white and wholemeal
can be made in a variety of shapes from Hi Tops to continentals
and cobs. The plaited white and wholemeal,(50/50) bread
is one of our specialties. We also have a variety of foccaccia
rolls and large foccacia. (capsicum, bacon, olive and sundried
tomato). Other rolls range from the dinner roll, through
hamburger and hot dog rolls to the 60cm Baguette.
We have a wide range of hot food : plain pies, chunky beef,
chunky beef and cheese, pepper, curry, chicken, savoury,
potato, egg and bacon, steak and mushroom, fetta and spinach
triangles, chicken and mushroom triangles, pasties, cheese,
cornish and vegetable, sausage rolls, cheese sausage rolls,
and quiches.
Exclusive to K.I. Bakery is our sugar free Australian fruit
loaf made with Australian dried fruit.
Sweet small goods include hot cross buns, (during the 40
days of Lent) finger buns, kitcheners and honey logs, apple
and apricot turnovers, donuts, eclairs, cheese cake, rock
buns, kisses, vanilla squares and fruit scrolls. Beenenschtich
between April and October. We also do birthday and special
occasion cakes, blackforest being our specialty.
We supply to most of the island, with a few of our products,
namely hot cross buns and pies making it to Adelaide and
even Queensland and Western Australia.
Good Food Kangaroo Island is an industry group
formed to encourage and support value adding producers and
protect the integrity of the Island’s produce. Regional
food groups have been established throughout South Australia
and are actively working with producers to establish regional
branding and long term relationships with major retailers
seeking access to high quality, branded products.
