ISLAND PALE - Kangaroo Islands Own - 110%
TRUE BREW
Established by Kellie and Brenton Lovering, Island
Pale is a true single malt ale made using all natural ingredients
sourced from Kangaroo Island, including barley and honey from
the islands renowned pure strain of Ligurian bees.
Island Brew Island Pale is the first of its kind. It is the one
and only true beer on Kangaroo Island that is made from local
produce. Our beer is a boutique beer that is specifically hand
crafted, and is only brewed in small batches of 2000 litres. Island
Pale is made exclusively from Kangaroo Island Gairdner barley
and Ligurian honey.
Island Pale is a well-balanced beer, with no preservatives and
an alcohol content of 4.5%.
We have just received a silver and
bronze medal for the Island Pale, from the 2007 Melbourne
International Beer Awards.
Island Pale is available from your nearest liquor outlet on the
island and selected outlets on the mainland. In the near future
our beer will also be available at Dan Murphy’s throughout
Australia.
By early next year we are hoping to have our own micro-brewery
up and running. We will be offering tours and tastings of the
various beers that we will be producing. Also we will be offering
a special dining experience.
From Emu Bay to American River can be found
some of the Islands premier food producers. The sheep milk dairy
at Island Pure offers visitors
the opportunity to observe milking, cheese production, tastings
and sales. Ferguson
Australia produces some of the world’s finest lobster
and prawn products. At their holding shed in Kingscote you can
view live king crabs, lobster and if your lucky some creatures
just for the kids.
Kangaroo Island Ligurian
Honey’s processing factory and Fryar’s
Kangaroo Island Free Range Egg Farm, which produces 19,000
eggs per day are also located in this area.
The towns of Kingscote and American River offer
many accommodation and dining options with picturesque locations
on the waters edge. Don’t miss the wonderful views around
Bay of Shoals winery, just
behind Kingscote.
