Dudley Wines, Pioneer of Kangaroo Island’s
rapidly expanding wine industry, was established in 1994 by three
local identities who have worked the soils of Kangaroo Island
for generations. From humble beginnings, Dudley Wines remains
KI’s largest wine producer, producing nine different wine
styles from three vineyards spread across the stunning Dudley
Peninsula on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island.
As one of the pioneers of the region, Dudley Wines
continue to set the benchmark for varietal style and quality from
one of the newest cool-climate viticultural regions in Australia.
Dudley Wines Cellar Door & Café in the
shadow of spectacular Cape Willoughby Lighthouse, at the Island’s
eastern most point, is arguably the country’s most spectacular
Cellar Door facility. The Dudley Cellar Door & Café
specialises in the best of seasonal Island-based produce, complimented
by wines from the Dudley Wines range, all served overlooking spectacular
sea views over the Backstairs Passage to the Fleurieu Peninsular.
The Cellar Door & Café also offers complimentary wine
tastings, Cellar Door wine specials, Dudley’s own range
of take-home produce, local art & handicrafts.
Dudley Cellar Door & Café – a “must
do” Kangaroo Island food and wine experience.
Cape Willoughby, the eastern point of
the Island, is a spectacular vantage point over backstairs passage,
the Pages and to the mainland. Dudley
Wines cellar door clings to this incredibly rugged landscape,
possibly the most unique location for a cellar door in the world.
Don’t miss a bucket of prawns or platter with the quality
wine. Tours of the lighthouse
and grounds are offered year round.
Large areas of native vegetation remains in
this untouched area of the Island.
