Winner of the 2009 Ultimate Kangaroo Island Food or Wine
Experience Award, Sunset offers its visitors a warm and
friendly welcome with a taste of our very delicious Sparkling
Shiraz. The biggest decision needed to be made is’
what to do next’ – a complimentary taste our
range of premium wine, or sit, relax and enjoy a Savoury
Platter, Dukkah Plate, KI Pate Plate or something sweet
- gluten free home made muffins with plunger coffee or tea.
Business partners David and Athalie Martin and Colin Hopkins
(also Sunset’s winemaker ) made the decision at conception
of the business that all the fruit for the wine would be
sourced only from Kangaroo Island vineyards and that as
much Kangaroo Island produce as possible would be incorporated
to give Sunset’s visitors a memorable Kangaroo Island
wine and food experience.
It is Sunset’s policy that we use only the best quality
fruit grown on Kangaroo Island, to produce a select range
of quality wines - Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sparkling
Shiraz, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz/Cab/Merlot.
Wine Sales via the cellar door or Australia wide mail order.
Local produce for sale: Island Pure Cheese, KI Source Relish,
Clifford’s Honey, Kangaroo Island Olive Oil Co. and
Emu Bay Lavender Farm products.
Good Food Kangaroo Island is an industry group
formed to encourage and support value adding producers and
protect the integrity of the Island’s produce. Regional
food groups have been established throughout South Australia
and are actively working with producers to establish regional
branding and long term relationships with major retailers
seeking access to high quality, branded products.
